Artist Statement

Many people come to art for the first time because a piece simply feels right. That moment of recognition is where my work begins. I grew up in Dallas, stepped away from painting for many years, and eventually returned to it as a way of slowing down and paying attention to the world again. Every painting in this collection was created in my Dallas studio, shaped by the light, rhythm, and everyday energy of this city.

I’m inspired by the idea that there’s more happening around us than we can easily see. Think of the way a thought lingers, a conversation stays with you, or a memory appears without warning. Influenced in part by the sense of wonder found in the work of Albert Einstein, I use movement, layering, and color to suggest those invisible connections—moments when things quietly line up.

You don’t need to “figure out” these paintings. They’re meant to be lived with. Over time, different shapes, colors, or rhythms may stand out, reflecting changes in your own mood or perspective. What you notice today may not be what you notice next year—and that’s part of the experience.

My hope is that owning one of these pieces feels less like acquiring an object and more like beginning a relationship: something that brings calm, curiosity, and a small sense of connection into your everyday space.
