Artist Statement

In my artistic practice, popular visual language emerges as an essential instrument for delving into existential questions and the dynamics of human experience. Through saturated color and pop symbolism, elements often dismissed as vulgar or hollow, I seek to connect with a broad audience that intuitively recognizes and identifies with these collective icons. As Žižek points out, fantasy is indispensable for forging worlds and languages that facilitate the digestion of profound discourses; in this vein, I approach the transformation of the body through tattooing, painting and sculpture infusing it with a pop and colorful vocabulary that unveils layers of meaning in the skin, canvas, paper, pigment, and the very act of marking bodies.

Color, that vibrant and malleable force that transcends the physical and the conceptual, is preserved here as a vital resource for human communication and expression. Pop culture, far from being a mere commercial product, acts as a digestible language that makes existential complexities tangible: from the search for identity to the interweaving of the individual with the collective. As an artist who accompanies people in modifying their bodies, a ritual of self-discovery, I invite this interdimensional exploration, where the tattoo ritual does not merely adorn but narrates, breathes, and challenges the boundaries of reality, transforming the ephemeral into the eternal.
