Artist Statement

My art centers around how humans interact with their environment and the deeper psychological undercurrents that exist inside everyone and propel us as we move through the world. The greatest source of inspiration for me is nature.

Our biosphere is facing great challenges on multiple fronts. Art has a role to play in bringing awareness and reconnecting people with the life force that sustains us. I see my role as creating a dialogue between nature and humanity. Bringing awareness to our interactions with the world and how we all have an impact.

Creating an environment of compassion both for ourselves and the earth is essential. There is no growth without understanding and bringing people together through art and artistic expression opens a channel for seeing in a new way that can propel forward the ideas of sustainability that will help heal the wound that has disconnected us from the earth. I believe art can be the light that guides us towards a healthier more verdant future.
