Artist Statement

My interest is in site specificity and alternative ways of knowing and communicating with the natural world, noting its role in the establishment of our philosophical and material sense of place–the ways in which it simultaneously shapes, sustains and reflects who and where we are.
My projects begin with open-ended attention and conversations with external phenomena, using drawing, painting, ceramics, photography and video to explore experiential states. I look for spaces and possibility for something to have a compelling gesture that "speaks"
back.
