Artist Statement

My artwork is content driven expression. Over the years, it has ranged from two-dimensional work on paper, sculpture in a variety of mediums, video and performance art, as well as public art projects and installations. My experience as a woman, giving birth, and being a caretaker informs my work with the instinct to understand, accept, nurture, and transform. With my work I have addressed such themes as environmental blight, mortality, and gender. I am drawn to lyrical and iconic forms and tend toward a minimal aesthetic. Insightful humor plays an important role in my work, and the playful integration of ideas lies at the heart of everything I create.
