Artist Statement

As an artist, I’m drawn to the interplay between the permanence of the past and the impermanence of the present. This tension finds form in my work through two enduring inspirations: lithography and old-world architecture. Both speak to a tradition of craftsmanship, history, and human expression.
Lithography captivates me with its tactile precision and meditative process. Drawing on stone or metal—knowing each mark will be preserved—connects me to generations of artisans who valued patience and skill.
Old-world architecture offers similar inspiration. Its weathered surfaces, ornate details, and enduring forms tell stories that span centuries and reflect cultures that fused function with beauty, and space with meaning.
In my prints, I merge these passions hoping to capture not just form but feeling. My work is a meditation on time’s power to erode, enrich, and preserve—and a quiet tribute to the makers who came before.
Recent works have moved beyond the traditional two-dimensional page, incorporating sculptural, three-dimensional printed forms. This involves cutting, folding, and gluing the paper in ways to enhance the depth of the prints. I have also explored dimensionality through transparent layers of printed acetate or plexiglass with paper.
