Artist Statement

My art form is a combination of sculpture and painting, balancing traditional technique with a modern twist. Starting with a simple sheet of copper, designs are hand fabricated and surface etched, coming alive with color applied through my proprietary polymer enameling process. Suitable embellishments may be added at the proper time, including precious and semi-precious stones, turquoise, or tiny glass marbles. Each piece is then meticulously hand forged into shape. My work reflects my fascination with the sea, and the amazing, adaptable life forms within. My work must also be adaptable, and adjust to fit each wearer so the two may exist in harmony and balance, as all must in nature.
