Kelsey Swanson

Artist Statement

Kelsey Swanson is a landscape and travel photographer based in New England. She is originally inspired by taking snapshots on the beginnings of her travels with family. Because Kelsey is not able to visualize mental images, photographs have become her method of remembrance. This interest lead her to learn photography in high school film and digital photography classes and then pursue a BFA photography degree at Rhode Island College. Throughout this time, her photography explored various subjects and implemented traveling as much as possible, including studying abroad.

Kelsey’s landscape photographs have been featured in various group exhibits around New England and she sells prints and calendars. She is also a member of Photographic Society of America, The Society of Photographers, Photographic Society of Rhode Island, Litchfield Hills Camera Club, and New Haven Camera Club. While Kelsey is currently working with companies photographing dance competitions, sports games, and portraits, she seeks out landscapes to photograph on the go in between work. She photographs her travels to feature the architecture, landscape, culture, and events each location has to offer. Through her photography, she brings travel to you.
