Artist Statement

As a late mid-career artist, I find myself increasingly drawn to memory and history. With each passing day, I strive to deepen my understanding of the world around me, which is why I make Artist Books, and paintings.
While my pictures capture the physicality of the topic, it is also concerned with exploring its psychological presence. I employ painting, mixed media, and printmaking to convey both the external and internal dimensions of my subject. Each artwork reflects the history and reason for it.
My work moves beyond observation and documentation to engage with emotional and narrative layers. In my pictures I aim to spark a dialogue between the viewer and the art—one that invites reflection. It is in the merging of these elements with my intuitive response to life that the true essence of my work emerges.
