Artist Statement

I’ve always been fascinated by the space where art, math, physics, and philosophy blur together into one big cosmic question mark. I think of my sculptures as a journey through higher dimensions, using clay as a vessel to explore not only what these dimensions would look like, but what they would feel like.

My series, “Qualia”, asks: what if emotions are our way of understanding higher dimensions? I spend a lot of time thinking about where my emotions live inside my body. Where do they originate? My chest? My stomach? Where are they pulling me? Into the sky? Into some deep incomprehensible void? What if the same forces responsible for warping the fabric of spacetime into a black hole are also at play when we experience the all-consuming pain of a broken heart? My goal as an artist is to showcase the beauty and pain of being human and the wonderful, mysterious nature of our consciousness.
