Artist Statement
I create paintings that merge intuitive mark‑making with the structural clarity of the Bauhaus tradition. My practice began in 2016, sparked unexpectedly when my daughters received easels from a neighbor. What started as experimentation quickly grew into a dedicated pursuit, leading to my first juried exhibition the following year.
My background in clay sculpture, fashion design, and a long career as a Director of Operations informs the way I approach composition — balancing spontaneity with order, gesture with geometry. Through mentorship with German artist Happy Winkler, I developed a deeper appreciation for the Bauhaus aesthetic and its emphasis on simplicity, balance, and purposeful design.
Since retiring, I have devoted myself fully to painting. My work continues to evolve as I explore abstraction, implied human forms, and the emotional resonance of color and shape. Each piece reflects my ongoing search for clarity, connection, and the quiet power of visual storytelling.
