Artist Statement
I have been an artist my whole life. As a child, my parents noticed my continuous drawing and doodling & surprised me with an oil painting set at 9 years old. I was a nature kid & so I began doing what I loved, mostly landscapes of the Texas hill country and coast. In 2009, I learned to do portraits in acrylics and this is what I do mostly today. I enjoy painting retro or vintage icons with a whimsical twist. Historically I have done mostly private request paintings for friends & family. I have done themed shows at The Alamo Draft House in Houston as well as Gruene Market. My love of painting has been intermingled with stained glass art since 1997, when I began learning to create in glass. After about a year, I started selling at markets throughout Texas. I learned copper foil and leaded art pieces and began creating and designing original whimsical leaded glass sun-catchers. I make each piece with lasting durability & quality in mind. Art continues to be one of my greatest joys, and when I create new pieces I do my best to infuse Love into ever piece, so that when people take them home, hopefully it brings them joy.
