Artist Statement

Lynn’s work is rooted in a lifelong commitment to making cities and neighborhoods more walkable, bikeable, and humane. After apprenticing with a master glass artist, she began using kiln-fused glass as a medium to reimagine the everyday elements of the streetscape—houses, trees, bicycles, flowers, and creatures such as dragonflies and butterflies—transforming them into luminous reflections of urban life.

Light is central to her practice. As it moves through and across the glass, it animates each piece, creating a dynamic experience that shifts with time, place, and perspective. Lynn is especially interested in how these transformations invite viewers to reconsider their surroundings and to see streets not merely as conduits for cars, but as living environments where people, plants, and animals coexist and thrive.

Each work is unique and designed in the kiln. Glass is cut into a combination of realistic and abstract forms, then often slumped into three-dimensional shapes to suggest movement and flow. After firing, individual elements are assembled into either freestanding glass-and-steel sculptures or hanging pieces. Together, these works encourage a deeper, more attentive way of seeing—and inhabiting—the neighborhood landscape.
