Artist Statement

My artworks explore the themes of time, place, and memory. My practice, rooted in the mystical tradition of oil painting, utilizes the material alchemy of pentimenti and palimpsest to create surfaces that function as visual archives of the 21st-century human condition. By building and scraping layers of pigment and linseed oil, I allow "ghosts" of earlier ideas to remain visible, constructing a non-linear narrative where the past and present coexist. My work is a commitment to bearing witness—addressing complex societal themes ranging from environmental concerns and global conflict to social justice and individual struggle.
