Artist Statement
I am a journeyman artist. BFA U Texas 1980; MFA program U Houston 1982, JD National University School of Law 1990. I use many differing materials in making both 2D and 3D artworks: fiberglass, metal, canvas, oils and acrylic, wood, markers, pastels, spray paint etc. If I were a writer I would dazzle you with the accomplishments, but I am a visual image maker and believe my work should explain it better. Socially conscious environmental activism are themes found in my work, among others. My works go back 50+ years and I have had many influences: Schnabel, De Kooning, John Alexander, among others. I worked with Julian Scannable and John Alexander at U Houston in the 1970s. I eat breathe and make art.
