Artist Statement

My work explores how shifts in perspective, scale, and context transform familiar subjects into something unexpected. Working primarily with natural forms—flowers, water, ice, and other organic elements—I use abstraction, macro photography, and carefully controlled environments to isolate color, texture, light, and composition, revealing details that often go unnoticed.
I am drawn to the point where an image moves beyond straightforward representation, where structure becomes ambiguous and the subject is no longer immediately recognizable. By working at close range or altering the conditions in which an image is created, I seek to blur the boundary between observation and abstraction.
My photographs encourage sustained looking, revealing how subtle shifts in perception can transform ordinary subjects into images that invite contemplation, curiosity, and multiple interpretations.
