Artist Statement

As a free range child of an artist and a builder, I grew up, surrounded by the means for making, and followed my curiosity as a guide. Art practice has been the most stable part of life, and continues to be a rejuvenating force. During 2021 I began to work with ceramics, and found a passion for sculpture. Across my work you will see themes that question the boundaries of reality, explore the liminal, and invite a shift in perspective.

Reaching beyond the modern mundane I call upon Folklore, mythology, and magic. My works reflect on the ways of people who have come before illuminating pathways to change, and opening ourselves to ancestral wisdom. Rising from my own lived experience and desire for a better circumstance, I try to create moments of wonder and expansiveness to inspire dreaming.

Seeking to inspire dreaming I have employed various forms throughout my life. Contemporary artifacts from exploring life with themes that question the boundaries of reality, explore the liminal, and invite a shift in perspective. Photos capturing pivotal moments of potential, fragments of time, mood, and emotion. Site specific installations making space for community, healing, self reflection, and empathy. Rituals for personal transformation, healing, and devotion, that alter our understanding of the universe.
