Artist Statement

Susan’s passion for sewing bloomed at a young age, leading to years of skillful craftsmanship. With fabrics, threads, and paper as her faithful companions, she weaves her artistic magic through both hand and machine stitching. By using many mediums and techniques Susan creates modern and striking fabric masterpieces. Inspired by landscapes, faces, and the intricate beauty of architecture and geometric patterns, her interest is centered in the process of creativity.

Susan’s work has been showcased in galleries across Benicia, Fort Bragg, Mendocino, Sacramento, Vacaville, Illinois, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Washington. But did you know her art has also traveled internationally? Her art quilt “Cityscape” has journeyed to China, England, and Ireland with the Studio Art Quilt Association’s “Concrete & Grassland” show.
