Artist’s Statement:

Painting to me is a way to express emotion through paint, much like a musician expresses emotion through music.

Painting and drawing most of my life I now paint mostly in oils as I love the feel and texture it can create. I enjoy painting en plein air and in the studio, it is all exciting to me regardless of painting a crashing wave or a portrait.

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Hong Kong and Yorkshire, England. I am an American/British dual citizen, but consider California my home.

My inspiration comes from great masters such as John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla and Anders Zorn as well as contemporary artists Randall Sexton, Huihan Lui, Kevin Courter, Ruo Li, Kevin Macpherson, Brian Blood, Laurie Kersey and Don Demers.

I am a signature member of the Oil Painters of America, signature member of American Impressionist Society and artist member of the California Art Club.
