Artist Statement
I paint people putting on appearances amidst a messy, chaotic reality. Sometimes they wear big, strained smiles to face the world, while other times their heads completely blur and melt away. I am interested in the quiet, awkward space between the neat costumes we identify with and the increasingly complicated world we have imposed on ourselves.
