Artist Statement

This self-portrait is my first major project in high school, I spent a lot of time developing this drawing. I wanted to challenge myself by focusing on both technical skill and personal expression. Throughout the process, I experimented with different techniques and made revisions to improve the final outcome. Spending a lot of time on this piece helped me better understand proportions, shading, and detail, while also allowing me to reflect on how I see myself as an artist. This project represents my growth and effort as a freshman and shows the beginning of my artistic development.
