Artist Statement

Craftsmanship skills have been in our family for four generations.
For me, it began as I accompanied my father in his custom home building business. He gave me the opportunity to learn the various trades as a helper and apprentice to the skilled crafts and trades people.

More recently, I have been developing my woodcraft skills over the past ten years creating projects as small as pens, bowls and woven cutting boards to full size cabinetry and furniture such as a bow front dresser and a farm table. Woodcraft gives me a great feeling of accomplishment in all sizes, forms and materials. It allows me to express creativity and presents challenges that reward me with interesting results. And, yes, sometimes expensive firewood. I enjoy the journey either way.
