Artist Statement

My paintings are intended as a gift for the viewer, to offer a feeling of magic and reverence, and to reveal and elevate the beauty of the moment. I find inspiration in my surroundings and the people that I love, my friends and family. Frequently, the figures in my paintings are engaged in their own creative activities, such as arranging flowers or playing musical instruments. Using paint, I explore color relationships to evoke emotional depth. I often work from life in a representational manner, but I also draw on memory, dreams, and fantasy as a guiding force for my work.
