Artist Statement

I have been interpreting visual art for most of my life, and the venues in which I have presented my work has evolved and changed over the years. After a fulfilling career as a hairstylist, with interior design also woven into my background, painting became a natural and deeply personal transition.
My love of nature, color, and movement is central to all of my paintings. My work represents my experiences in life---expressed through vibrant colors, rich texture, movement, and an occasional splash of the unexpected. I am drawn in the way color can create emotion, texture can invite you in, movement can suggest something that is beyond what is immediately seen.
For me painting is not simply about reproducing what I see. It is about how I experience It.
