Artist Statement
I like to work my way through shapes, darks and lights using colors to give a subject its presence and the viewer moments of reflection. I consider myself continuously learning and being influenced by the works of the Impressionists, local artists and multiple contemporary artists. Recent readings such ass the book, "Ninth Street Women" introduced me to those women in the abstract styles and opened another area to explore. My current subjects are landscapes, still life, florals, and figurative works. While I mostly work in oils, I have works in acrylics, watercolors and pastels.
