Until the age of 62, I described myself as an artist without a medium. I knew I had a good eye, a feel for the visual. Then, I discovered collage. That was 4 ½ years ago. Finally, I had found my medium.
This has been the best journey for me. Creating, evolving. Learning. Experimenting.
I love to tell a story with my collages. I love images and paper. I especially love working with vintage magazines. The ads and images from the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s are just so much fun.
My desire is to put images together to create a story, one that the viewer can imagine, can interrupt or come up with their own story. I am intrigued by surrealism. Something that doesn’t belong yet makes sense anyway.
There are no rules in collage, which makes it ever changing and never boring.
My greatest inspiration is from other artists who share their technique, their downfalls and their triumphs. I am very appreciative of those who share. I am as excited as ever about my adventure into the world of analog narrative surreal collage.
