Artist Statement

From My Point of View



My point of view has always been from a place that is separated from the mainland, near sea level, and where I am very small compared to my awesome surroundings.

Large bodies of water require deep respect, the pull of the tide demands your beating heart’s attention, and, of course, the magical sights to behold as the dawn wakes your senses or the day draws to a close with an explosion of ricocheting color dazzling the eyes.

You see, I grew up on Lummi Island and after a lifetime of yearning I was able to return to that place that I know so well.
