Artist Statement

A mixed media artist, Tricia Schug enjoys giving new life to the old and discarded materials of our lives. Often highlighting what some may consider flaws, such as rust, tears or stains, she uses vintage papers, fabric, tin and found objects in new ways to allow their storied past to become part of today’s conversation.


This collage is an ode to the beauty and necessity of sprawling shade trees and was inspired by a trip to the library with her young granddaughter who is just learning to unlock the magic of reading.
