Vicki Perry
Artist Statement
Washington artist Vicki Perry loves the dramatic landscape of the Northwest and Puget Sound that she and her musician husband, Fred Francis, call home. For an artist, the West Coast offers a great deal of diversity and inspiration, from beaches to rolling farmland and majestic mountain ranges. Vicki studied art history, fine art, and design at both Washington State University and the University of Washington in the 1970’s. Her career path changed to real estate related industries in 1979 but her creative and artistic talents spilled over into her career through interior design, staging, marketing and advertising, all contributing greatly to her career success.
The farms and natural beauty of the tranquil Snoqualmie Valley where she lives, and recent travels through the Western States inspire her paintings. Her primary focus is oil painting, particularly the landscape. Although her work has primarily been in the studio, she recently moved outdoors to paint plein air, allowing a more direct interaction with nature and to enhance the spiritual connection that develops as a painting emerges.
