Artist Statement

I create collages from papers I print in acrylic using a gel plate and other printmaking tools. My compositions of birds and flowers focus on renewal and the simple beauty of everyday life. The vivid colors, interesting textures, and playful patterns are meant to work together to evoke a feeling of joy, connection, and comfort--a sanctuary from the world outside. The addition of vases adds a human element and implicitly suggests that we are part of creating and preserving the world's beauty.
