Lorraine Goddard
Artist Statement
Plein air painting unites two of Lorraine Goddard's greatest passions: creativity and nature. As an avid traveler and hiker from the Pacific Northwest, Lorraine strives to fill her paintings with the light and color of the natural world. She paints in oils and gouache in the field and at her home studio in Lynnwood, Washington.
After fifteen years as a classroom teacher in the Pacific Northwest and Brazil, with short stints in Korea and Taiwan, Lorraine now divides her time between her day job as a writer, her passion for painting, and cooking, gardening, and playing the piano and drums. She lives near Seattle with her husband, son, daughter, dog, cat, and several dozen trees. Lorraine has degrees in history, education, and music from Whitworth University and a Master of Education from the University of Washington.
