Artist Statement

I am drawn into having intuitive conversations with the canvas and seeing what emerges: mostly colorful abstracts, but also hints of the figurative. In my abstract art there is usually no prescribed emotion or vision at the onset. I usually start the canvas with a dominant color I am connecting with. As buried worlds, images or emotions emerge, I develop what intrigues me the deepest. I am drawn to color, shape, textures, mystery, details, and microcosms. My hope is to connect to others and our shared experiences, to pull back our veils.
