Artist Statement
I am first and foremost a poet, and I find the same eye and powers of observation lend themselves to capturing moments in time with photography. The image and language often arrive at the same time for me. Editing a photo is a silent process of the eyes, mind and heart, though; whereas editing poetry also requires rhythm, melody, and speech--and definitely more trial and error!
