Artist Statement

I’m currently working mostly with found objects, collage, and other materials due to vision issues that hamper my hand eye coordination and blurred vision after a while if trying to do portraits or landscape, or still life painting or drawing or working on my iPad. It’s therefore very tedious and difficult for me to enter juried shows.
My focus currently with mixed media is on protest art, feminism, social and political issues in particular because I believe art has in the past always influenced our culture and our history.I have discovered that I can also have a role in the No Kings movement by using symbolic imagery; creating a narrative with found objects that expresses my profound outrage over the gradual losses of democracy and freedoms. I think my art is going to better use at this time than just making beautiful paintings. I feel I have an important message to express in my 3D installations now to protest the Tyranny of the present Trump Administration, and I have tried to express that over the past three years in my series of three installations; including Rescue Liberty ‘26.
