Artist Statement

I was sitting at my desk on spring afternoon, looking out from the picture window that's in front of me. The forsythia were in full bloom as well as a mandevilla plant that sits on the window sill; it was the perfect combination of red and yellow, and I liked the way the mandevilla had an oriental look. I put the photo through post processing using Brushstroke, a painting application for digital photography, which allowed me to add a painterly look as well as intensifying the color.
