Artist Statement

I’m drawn to time worn surfaces and organic qualities while also appreciating the juxtaposition between old and new, sharp and muted, amorphous and geometric. The built up layers of paint and often other materials, serve to create interest in what is also partially covered.

This series Limitless was a leap into using some of my painting pull off papers to create an imagined landscape. In places the color are more dynamic than usual for me, but also have that rustic meets contemporary and layering I’m so fond of.
