Statement

I am a mixed media artist, a traveler, and a collector. I have lived overseas for many years and have visited over 55 countries. My travels have allowed me to collect ephemera (vintage papers, old books, fabric, beads, charms, etc.) from around the world. The forgotten, the weathered, and the discarded appeal to me. I use these findings to create my collages. My approaches involve deconstructing and reassembling my materials. I primarily use collage methods, juxtaposing layers with machine stitching or glue to reinterpret and reimagine. For me, each piece I create is a little treasure, a faded memory, that reminds me of the wonder of traveling.
