Artist Statement

My paintings and prints explore the art of layering—both in material and meaning.

Working with Dura-Lar, an archival polyester film, I exploit its transparency to reveal shifting dimensions of the human face and figure and what it hides and reveals..

By combining acrylic, ink, watercolor pencils and pastels, I can capture the subtleties of emotion, gesture and presence.

My process is both experimental and intentional; each layer of color and mark making becomes a dialogue between boldness and restraint.

I invite viewers to look closely, finding beauty not just in what is shown but in what is revealed through depth and translucency
