Artist Statement

I have had the pleasure of conveying artistic expression through many avenues in my life. From my first passion as a guitarist and music writer, to capturing images of landscapes, wildlife and people; I have enjoyed years of sharing my enthusiasm for the arts. My interest in the scenic outdoors and wildlife eventually led me to the pursuit of photography as a a passion and a business.



From the sunny beaches of California to the depths of the Smokey Mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee; the crystal clear waters of Lake Superior to the majestic waterfalls throughout the Midwest; I share my travels on canvas and print to take you on these exciting and breathtaking journeys with me. My goal is to bring these captivating images from across the nation to the walls of your home or office.



As a fine art landscape and freelance portrait photographer located in Springfield, IL, William Richards Photography provides services for clients throughout the United States for landscape images, individual and family photos, weddings, corporate events, commercial advertising, non-profit events and more.

William Richards Photography specializes in Digital photography using a traditional style editing process. All printing is done exclusively in house using state of the art Lucia pigment ink technology, archival quality canvas and paper media. All canvases are varnished with a UV protective coating. Print matting is of acid free conservation material. This ensures all art will last decades without discoloration fading. Most large prints and canvases are limited edition. Small prints are open end editions.
