Terrill Warrenburg

Artist Statement

My artistic practice embraces change, glorifies mistakes, reduces control, and constantly rediscovers and revisits older projects. My works are the attempted transition of conceptual ideas into concrete forms, often returning to them years later to add or remove elements.

Terrill Warrenburg is an interdisciplinary artist and independent curator living and working in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut).

Terrill’s artwork is non-representational and rooted in self-discovery and meditative practice. In her artistic practice, she explores the relationship between chance, digital manipulation, and repetitive mark-making. Never considering an artwork “complete,” she revisits her evolving two dimensional “painted” surfaces, often years later.

Terrill also curates exhibitions in the New York City and the tri-state area. With a firm belief that art exhibitions should be accessible and approachable for all, one of her goals is to amplify voices that have historically been under-represented and under-appreciated in the art world. At the heart of her curatorial practice, Terrill seeks to explore art’s unique ability to foster empathy between individuals.


Terrill received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (2016) with a major in Fine Art, and minors in both Art History and French. She works full-time at Sean Kelly Gallery in New York city managing the gallery’s art fairs and special projects. Terrill is on the Steering Committee for the Professional Organization of Women in the Arts, the Flinn Gallery Committee, and loves collaborating on projects.
