Artist Statement

I am a painter, inspired by the beauty of the natural world that surrounds me.

I'm intrigued by form, color, the joyful play of sunlight and the secrets found in shadows and dark spaces.

Working in watercolor is a journey, a way to experiment with paper and watercolor mediums. It’s the discovery of anticipating how the texture of the paper shifts the mood of the painting, and how the watercolor mediums inspire the flow of the paint, how it lifts from the paper and how slowly or quickly it dries.

My joy and passion is interpreting nature with paper and paint.
