2026 Statement Lina Morielli

My work explores the subconscious-the fragments of memory that resurface, the lingering shadows of trauma, and the fluid nature of time as we live and work in the present. Both global events and intimate personal experiences shape my creative voice, weaving together a layered visual language of evolving symbols and markings.

Each piece becomes part of an ongoing dialogue between my inner world and the forces that press upon it from outside. Over the span of fifty plus years, my materials and forms have evolved, just as I have, reflecting the shifting landscapes of thought, feeling and history. This process of self-expression is not etched in stone, but a living testament to creativity’s power to mirror and sometimes transfigure our lived experience.
