Colleen Hammond
Artist Statement
Colleen is an artist living in Philadelphia who creates collages and oil paintings. She is also dedicated to figure drawing in charcoal and pastel, a practice she began during her classical studies and continues in both independent and open-studio settings. In her collage work, Colleen builds abstract compositions through a process that is both spontaneous and intentional, which sets them apart from her more representational paintings. Her paintings frequently depict atmospheric skies, seascapes, and landscapes, a mood that is also evident in her portraiture.
