Artist Statement

The artistic vision of my photography is to transform ordinary, overlooked landscapes into ethereal images. Infrared reveals a magical luminance invisible to the eye, offering ideal qualities to express a dreamlike portrayal of the land.

Growing up on the open plains shaped this art, including the rendering of negative space as an illustration of quietude. My images illuminate the austere ruggedness of western scenes, the silence of the prairie, and the mystery of the deserts.

The connection to these homelands is ancestral as much as artistic. These are not locations to visit. They are places to return to. Infrared photography has always felt less like technique and more like translating what the land already knows into something others can feel.

A friend once commented, "I love the haunting quality of your photography. Your photos have an otherworldly sense of half-remembered dreams." Infrared has given voice to my vision, letting me share how I connect with the land I love.
