Artist Statement

Dennis Smith


My work consists of construction, construction as a combination of ideas as well as mediums. Parts and pieces both as elements and ideas develop and progress during the construction. The process of developing and foraging for elements in the construction of the works is an intricate part of the process. There is a storytelling element to my work. I am telling a story or developing a story in the process. Working this way I find I can develop and evolve as an artist.
