Artist Statement — Angel Marie Akin

My artwork is inspired by imagination, emotion, and the beauty found in color. I create pieces that transform familiar scenes into personal expressions filled with wonder and feeling. Through my use of bold colors, flowing movement, and dreamlike imagery, I invite viewers to experience a sense of peace, curiosity, and connection.

My Purple & Blue Starry Night series explores how color can change the way we see the world. The deep purples and royal blues represent mystery, creativity, and the endless possibilities of the night sky. Each brushstroke reflects my passion for creating art that brings emotion to life and allows people to see beauty from a different perspective.

As an artist from Louisville, Kentucky, I continue to explore new ways of expressing stories through paintings and drawings, using color and imagination as my voice.
