Artist Statement

My work exists at the intersection of memory, spirituality, psychological tension, and human transformation. Through layered mixed-media compositions, I explore the fragile architecture of identity and how we carry trauma, desire, faith, isolation, and hope within us. The figures that emerge throughout these paintings are not portraits of specific individuals, but reflections of the internal human condition: fractured, searching, vulnerable, and resilient.
I combine abstraction, symbolism, text, collage, and raw gestural mark-making to create emotional landscapes that feel both intimate and mythic. Reoccurring motifs such as halos, ladders, birds, fragmented structures, and barriers speak to themes of transcendence, confinement, mortality, and the longing for liberation. My process is deeply intuitive; I layer, erase, excavate, and rebuild surfaces until the work begins to reveal something honest and unresolved.
My work is ultimately about what lies beneath appearances, the invisible emotional and spiritual forces that shape our existence. I am interested in the tension between chaos and beauty, suffering and grace, reason and instinct. Through these works, I invite viewers into a space of introspection where ambiguity becomes a mirror, and where the overlooked fragments of human experience can become sacred.
