Artist Statement

My artistic approach is based on the interplay of human emotion, nature,
and time. Painting is one of several mediums used. I strive to evoke feelings
of reflection and connectedness to the world around us.
My art is frequently influenced by the beauty and complexity of nature, as
well as my own experiences and observations. Internal and external studies
of the human body interest me because they can mimic the ups and downs
of emotions and memories.
Waves of texture and color interact in my work to create richness and state
of mind, inviting viewers to pause and reflect. I'm particularly interested in
catching fleeting moments of beauty and vulnerability while contemplating
issues of transience and impermanence.
Lastly, as an artist, my goal is to create artworks that provoke an emotional
response, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and find calm in the basic
connection of everything. Through my work, I aspire to obtain a deeper
knowledge of human beings and our connection with the natural world.
