Artist Statement

I am an artist working in Rochester, NY. Through my paintings I often explore balance and equilibrium through subject matter and formal elements. I am drawn to the mysteries of perception and the seemingly random way our senses choose to reveal and hide aspects of reality. I like to explore and emphasize points of tension in color and composition interacting so that a synthesis of sorts evolves.
There is an energy that comes from the connectedness and the visual balance in my art that echoes my deeper values—creating space where everything and everyone matters.
