Artist Statement

Personal experiences, world travels, and politics inform much of my work, though not exclusively, as many pieces are simply inspired by lovely summer flowers in my garden. In the studio, I often flip through older canvases and drawings to see what lonely, forgotten things are waiting for resurrection or incorporation into a new work. I'm a serious sentimentalist and keep much of the detritus of living life - using it in my artwork brings memories alive.
